Face Value

Z: May I read me a story? (Meaning, in Zach's pronoun-challenged world, Will YOU read ME a story?) G: (busy playing with Emma) Yes, you may. Go away. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ © 2006, Mary P

That one made me laugh out loud. Thanks for the many little snippets of humor!

So cute!

Jill (age 6) has some troubles with the may/will issue. I constantly say to her (after she's said something like "May you get me a drink?"), "May I, will you." And now it's become this weird chant she says when she's doing other things like drawing or daydreaming. "May I, will you. May I, will you . . ." over and over again.

Hahaha - Quinn still struggles with pronouns, and it cracks me up. He's starting to correct himself sometimes now, and that is pretty cute as well.

Ms. Huis: Welcome! Thank you. They're funny little urchins, if you've the ear to hear them.

Mamacita Tina: Not bad, actually. He was calm and matter-of-fact. I don't think he was speaking maliciously, though we did a little introduction to the concept of tact after this little exchange...

NannyA: Too bad she's absorbed the words and yet completely missed out on their application, huh? Pretty funny!

Sassy: No, not that I know of. However, I have a large enough body of work here, and I've put enough thought and effort into it, that I'd be seriously pi - er, annoyed - if anyone did steal it. Hence the marker.

Kristen: Sometimes it's hard to know which you want more: the cute mistakes, or the proper way to do it. One of my kids called her sock "gookums" for the longest time. Though I wouldn't want her to be doing it now, I did miss it when it went!
