Say What?

It's a rainy day, so the boys have returned to the endless hockey game. Today they are replaying the previous night's game. "I'll be the Buffalo Saviours, and you can be the Senators," George directs. "It's not 'Saviours', it's Say-Beers!" Darcy corrects. I think Darcy is closer to the mark.

It has been raining here since tuesday and there is no let up in sight. They tell us we won't see the sun hear in the North East untill the end of next week. Clouds depress me.

Those are some pretty informed kids - even if the names aren't quite right! They certainly know their hockey teams!

'kay, here's how hockey-inept I am:

I read that post and was like "Oh, how cute, they've been listening to Bob Marley over at Mary P.'s."

Because, you know, buffalo soldiers? Dreadlocked rockstars?

Wow. I need to listen better when the sports updates come on the radio, ya think?

I could learn something about hockey from these little guys!

Latest funny: Our friend's little boy has learned to identify the neighbor's "cat" and the family "sit." Can you tell what they are always telling the dog to do? ;)

Peter: We're in for a few days of it, too. It's spring, and all, but you're right, it can get dreary.

Angela: They do, indeed. Of course, it's hard to escape in this city, at this time. Since odds are good that Ottawa will get eliminated in the next game or two, though, it may die down amongst the tots thereafter...

Bill: I've blogged on this before, because it just keeps coming up. These boys do love their hockey!

Stefanierj: Aye-yi-yi, yi-y'-yi-yi... Now I'll have that tune lolloping through my head all day. My stepkids went through a phase where that's the only song they wanted to hear, ever, so I know it inside out and backwards. Good think I like it.

(Though I always thought it was "dreadlock rasta", though... Now I need to google the lyrics!)

LadyM: You probably could, particularly Darcy. His dad is a big fan, and Darcy knows his hockey!

"C is for cat; D is for sit!" LOL

Here's one of ours: My niece went to the zoo years ago, where every animal larger than her waist was "goggie!", every animal smaller was "kitty". Except for the gorilla, the big silverback male? He was "daddy"!! LOL

Hmm, beer and hockey, almost as good as baseball and hockey. Of course I live in Arizona, so what do I know about hockey? Nothing. Now baseball, that's a different story. Go Diamondbacks! And while I'm at it, GO SUNS!
